One pop star, a field 173 miles north of Inverness, £20 in his pocket, a sat nav phone and a music tour across the UK to complete, Frankmusik takes the artist/fan interaction into uncharted territory.
The campaign saw Vincent (Fankmusik) make his way across the country playing at crazy gig locations suggested by his fans interacting with the campaign.
Working with media and technology partners MySpace and Blackberry, The Unit developed a website that plotted his position with GPS from his BlackBerry smartphone onto Google Maps, day and night.
The interactive tour was subject of a Channel 4 show broadcast in its entirety in April. Every night of the tour the production team filming his adventures uploaded a daily ‘highlights’ show exclusively to the Frankmusik MySpace
Twitter asks ‘what are you doing?’ Live & Lost with BlackBerry asks ‘where’s Frank?’ The big “F” icon on the map answers. Meanwhile fans can ‘flag’ themselves on the same map after creating a socially networked fan profile.
